When my son was younger, we used to make homemade bread. He loved to knead the dough. Once he got to high school, those days were over, BUT, he worked for a bakery so there was an endless supply of free, fresh day old bread for two years. Sadly, he no longer works at the bakery. So, out comes the bread machine. I forgot how easy it is to put in the ingredients and, tah dah, fresh bread 3-4 hours later.
Recipe: 1 3/8 cups water, 1.5 tablespoons olive oil, 4 cups flour, 1.5 tsp salt, 1 Tbs sugar, 2 tsp activated dry yeast. Place liquid ingredients in first, then dry, then yeast in a well. Turn it on to french loaf 2 lb. setting.
